Temple History

Agama: Sri Ramalingeswara Swami's Devasthanam along with Sri Sukha Shyamalamba situated in Nandigama Town and Mandal in Krishna District is an ancient one. The 4 corners of the temple are resplendent with upalayams of Sri Rameswara, Sri Someswara, Sri Bhimeswara and Sri Chandramouleswara Swami.

It is used to say that Sri Swami has revealed himself. Mr. Raja Vasireddy Venkatadrinayudu, who is the landlord of this area, showed his devotion to Sri Swamivari by constructing high gopurams and ramparts in his land village Nandigama where the temple is located, and presented about 1100 yakarams of land to the temple of Nandigama village.

Special pujas and festivals are celebrated in the months of Shravana Ashviyuja Kartika Magha every year. Sri Swami's marriage mahostavams are held for 10 days from Maghasuddha Dashami. In these festivals, Kalyana, Radotsva and Pavalimpu services are organized with great splendor. A large number of devotees visit Sri Swami on this occasion.

Bilvarchana is offered to Sri Swami on Masashivaratri of every month, and kumkumarchana to Sri Shuka Shyamalamba Amma on every full moon day. The Navagraha idol in the temple was worshiped a long time ago, but on Shani Troyodashi devotees are going to perform Navagraha pujas in large numbers. Sri Sukha Shyamalamba along with Sri Ramalingeshwar Swami is blooming like a Kalpa tree in the temple.
